Appleton Estate 12-Year Rum is a blend of several rums aged between 12 and 18 years in American oak barrels after being distilled using small-batch copper pot stills.
The rum is produced on the Appleton Estate, which sits in the Nassau Valley in Jamaica. The estate’s origins date back as far as 1655 when the English overthrew the Spanish to rule the island and Frances Dickinson, grandfather of the distillery’s founders, received the land as a reward for his role in the overthrow.

C'est un rhum bon mais sec. Si vous préférez les rhum doux celui ci n'est pas pour vous. Un rhum qui vous rappelle que les pirates anglais buvaient des vraies boissons d'hommes.
This is a good but dry rum. If you prefer sweet rum this one is not for you. A rum that reminds you that English pirates drank "real men" drinks.
I like the flavor of this rum. I have received three bottles as gifts from friends.
This rum is easy to drink. Not too woody and not too sweet. Great to sip or in your favourite rum cocktail. So far the best Appleton I tried.
I am a little surprised that I like this one quite so much as I generally am not a great fan of Jamaican rums due to the iodine notes. However, the oak, fruit (including the iodine) and marry up to really appeal. It grows and grows on me, and has now become one of the rums that is ever present in my cupboard.
We had this rum in Jamaica on a cruise. Appleton is great and people are going to hate this but I love mixing this particular rum with coke.
I did expect more oaky taste but must admit it deliver a good rum. It feels strong 43% and other tastes come forward with dark chocolate.
L'un des tous premiers rhums que j'ai gouté. Très bon rhum pas trop cher. Goût assez riche ! Très bonne odeur !
My bottle is labeled 12 year rare casks.
Great taste and not too sweet. Bought this to make Mai Tais, but could see myself sipping this regularly.
Delicious on its own or over ice. Makes me proud to be Jamaican.

The rum offers a lot of smoky spiced oak flavour.
"A nice note of cocoa and a little hint of vanilla. The rum is smooth yet spicy offering a nice kick. The finish is long and complex leaving a lot of flavour behind to savour."
