Rum tasting in Memphis started with John Emerald Gene's Spiced Rum. Unique bottle and label design. Reddish golden color. Strong cinnamon straight to your face mixed with plenty of unaged alcohol and a nasty sweet Pecan pie extract. Hard to mix with anything since it's so sweet.

Not a sipper, and with so much flavor it would have a narrow list of appropriate cocktails. It has an aroma of candied pecans with anise and clove. There a lot of burn in the first sip, but a long finish that leaves behind the spices. Would be good in an eggnog.

Nose appears to be nutmeg and cinnamon. Taste is overly dominated by cinnamon. Predominantly a mixer. Good with coke. Probably would rate at 6. 6
