El Dorado 21 is produced near the equator in Guyana by Demerara distillery. The final product is a blend of rums, aged between 21 and 25 years and crafted using 100% locally sourced Demerara sugar. Traditional tools are used in the distilling processes including three unique wooden stills. The rums rest until maturity in 45 gallon oak casks.

Complex flavour. Keep trying others but nothing beats this rum.
Aged for 21 years in oak barrels, notes of maple and mocha are blended beautifully coupled with the smoothest nutty finish I've ever experienced this rum truly is a step above the rest and a fine addition to anyone's collection. Definitely going in the infinity bottle 😎
Though I'm pretty new to this rum as a "sipping" experience I found this rum to be very good. Being Canadian and having our "sin tax" system makes this a higher price choice but the value is there. Very smooth and drinkable with no heavy alcohol tones. I will definitely be looking for this rum again in the future and adding it as a staple in my cabinet.
Excellent rum - though not really distinct - would I be able to recognise in a blind tasting? Will nit buy again - to expansive
Tasted in Drinks By The Dram - The Rum Advent Calendar (2019 Edition)
Co se týče řady El dorada tak opět posunuté víc do dřevitých tónů, a ještě víc do whiskey. Jinak klasika demerara. Za mě férovych 8,5.
had the chance to taste this rum in an exclusive rum tasting. This one was my second best. Can fully recommend it.
I was gifted this rum for Christmas. I was so excited to try it. However, i was disappointed for a few reasons.
My reasons:
1. Tastes like a fine Cognac
2. If you leave this rum in a glass, it naturally separates for the sugar that is added.
For the price, i could easily buy two botlles of Appleton 12 year and id be 200% more happy to drink it. Dont waste your time drinking this crap. Just buy a real Cognac.

"El Dorado 21-Year rum review by The Ultimate RumGuide"
There is an extra layer of oak in the profile.
"Notes of oak and a slight spiciness also comes through. The rum is very smooth and easy drinking but complex enough to ensure you savour each sip of the drink. The finish is long lasting."

Just started a new job and my wife bought me this as a gift. The El Dorado 12 is my go to rum. This is so much more complex a rum. This is not as sweet as the 12 but is just as thick in the mouth. Definitely let it sit in your glass before sipping let it breath a little . You will not be disappointed.
