Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled

El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.

Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

The nose front told me that this was going to be a sharper rum with a hard edge on it. Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be smooth and round! A very nice sipper just shy of syrupy sweet with a beautiful color to it.

I really like this, its ike a chameleon it changes based on what you drank before it. Usually it is sweet but I have experienced the bitter side of this after drinking some (way to sweet) coke.
An amazing starter rum, I got this as a gift for my birthday and now I cant wait to try the 15 and the 21.

Very simillar to Zacapa. Anyway - you feel more hand-work from El Dorado.

had a tasting after dinner with the plantation gran anejo, anejo has more flavour but El Dorado is smoother on the tongue and nose

For the price about 25 EUR, I didn´t find any better rum with so complexity. It took a while for me to enjoy it, but then it was worth of it. I´am looking forward to older versions.

Nagyon kellemes selymes rum. Illatában és ízében is hozza amit ígér. Nálam elmaradt a wow faktor,de ez nyilván ízlés kérdése is! De bátran ajánlom egy beszélgetős estére!

Slightly spicy up front that mellows to reveal a buttery banana flavor. Great for sipping.

I prefer this to the more expensive 15yr and for the price ($30 in Chicago) I haven’t found a better value for a rum to sip on. I think it has a nice initial flavor and there is definitely a bit of a burn afterwards but overall I think this is a great stock rum to keep around. Medium dark color, very smooth for the price point, well balanced.

I think it's a good rum to start with. It lets you experience multiple dimensions of flavours within a few seconds. After every sip you immediately get a little alcohol burn in combination with the typical taste of rum, but nevertheless it still runs smooth on your throat. Then you'll enjoy the vanilla aroma wich will be followed up with a strong but enjoyable aroma of Orange

Quite a bite. Blended with a softer rum, easier to drink
