Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled

El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.

Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

Basic brown in color. Modeller's glue on nose. Strong, soft barrel taste, oaky.

This is something that did not bother me at the beginning, but was becoming a nuisance pretty fast: Added sugar. This has lovely flavors, but the sugar spoils it for me. A pity, really. Still a competent rum, even a great one for those who are not put off by the artificial sweetness.

loved the El Dorado 2. The 12 is good, and cheaper, if you can't find the 21.

I rate the 12 year highly because it reminds me of the one experience I had tasting the 30 year.

The 12 year is still an incredibly tasty drop and I personally find that El Dorado is the flavour I think of when I am craving a rum.

30 year is better but the 12 year will still hit the spot.

Poměr cena výkon to nejlepší co sem měl. Klasický demerara rum velmi těžký
a hutný. Minimálně vyzkoušet doporučuju každému. Standart klasických rumů. Za mě 8.5.

Sweet smoke on the nose. Unusual spicy, smoky prune palette followed by a lovely smooth banana finish

I really like this, its ike a chameleon it changes based on what you drank before it. Usually it is sweet but I have experienced the bitter side of this after drinking some (way to sweet) coke.
An amazing starter rum, I got this as a gift for my birthday and now I cant wait to try the 15 and the 21.

Very simillar to Zacapa. Anyway - you feel more hand-work from El Dorado.

had a tasting after dinner with the plantation gran anejo, anejo has more flavour but El Dorado is smoother on the tongue and nose

For the price about 25 EUR, I didn´t find any better rum with so complexity. It took a while for me to enjoy it, but then it was worth of it. I´am looking forward to older versions.
