Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled

El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.

Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

Nice copper color. Aroma is vanilla and kind of alcohol-y but not unforgivably so. Sweet spice / cinnamon at first sip, with brown sugar turning to nuts, caramel, and the faintest hint of burnt wood on the fade. Deliciously complex. One of my favorites straight, and will make a rum-n-coke that will make your eyes roll back in your head.

Like it with good flavor on first drink. But flavor is not taking upperhand.
But burns a bit too much for me.
But still very nice on ice.

quite nice, ive had rums that are gentler on the pallete, this benefits from ice melted to allow it to mellow a little,

I'm undecided...
This rum is too smooth, too sweet, too all...
Is like an astonishing top model that doesn't light your fire.
Still you have to admit is quite perfect!

Try it with Stilton cheese! You'll love it!

The best rum I've tasted so far. Great taste and quality. Vanilla and caramel notes. Smooth from beginning to end. Drink it on the rocks or add a splash of vanilla or cherry coke.

Somewhat disappointed with the overall tastes. Found it had a sharp, sour after taste. Tried it with both my usual mixers and was not blown away by either. Worthy purchase but I have a few others I would go to first.

I find El Dorado 12 very smooth and is good with mixed drinks or just on the rocks.

when you base rum quality with Bacardi as standard, it just shows that you would drink anything with three letters on the label. but if you base all other rums with this one, it will make you seem like a very well versed rum taster.

the quality of the liquid itself speaks for itself. great flavor and character. if you want a great sipping rum in your cabinet, this should belong at top tier selection. toss out those mediocre rums and make this your standard rum of choice stat!
