Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled
El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.
Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

In mouth Smooth, sweet taste of honey, a bit of chocolate and no woody taste. U can buy it
I enjoyed a glass of this at a restaurant simply to try it out. I always keep a bottle of the 15 year or 2 on my shelf. It was quite good as one might expect if your at all familiar with this line of rums. Granted I will probably only buy this bottle if my store happens to be out of the 15 year.
To match the depth and quality of the El Dorado 12 yr you will have to spend a lot more. This rum is everything it set out to be and more and is a basic pillar of a good rum collection.
A very good rum for a decent price. Smooth & full. No "bite" and a good starter rum.
Tastefull and mild with a nice taste. Personaly i find it a bit better than the El Dorado 15.
When I drank 7-y El dorado I looked forward to this one. And I am certainly not dissapointed. Great sipping rum.
It’s a rum that has a good smell. In the mouth it is a delight, with a very refined taste, even if it’s less rich in flavor than the 15. It is also less strong than its big brother, more sweet and subtle but it’s difficult to put them into competition, I would say they are complementary. It is rare that I drink one of them without having a glass of the other one as well.
Realy good taste. You should try it. Don't suit everyone but I like it.
Lush tropical fruit and spice nose with hints of honey and dark sugar...
"El Dorado 12-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
It’s sweeter with more delicate fruit flavours coming to the fore.
"It’s very sweet and quite light. It’s very easy drinking. As a sipping rum it as easy to drink."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
