Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled
El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.
Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

En ce moment, j'ai son grand frère, le 15 ans, que j'aime beaucoup. Mais il faudrait que j'aie de nouveau les 2 ensemble, pour faire une comparaison valable.
Sweet, smooth and oaky. More like sirup. Complex Taste under the sugar hood. Vanilla Notes and Toffee smell. Old Fashion Ron. Reminds me on 7 year Havanna but Way better. Sipping recommended.
I was expecting better after reading some reviews suggesting it was better than the 15-yr. not even close. Too sweet and lack complexity compared to the 15 yrs. It’s good value for the price but I rather put the extra $ to get the 15 yrs.
While a bit sweet for some, I have rarely experienced a better sipping rum. Rich and spicy, with enough caramel hints to almost feel decadent, this is a drink that is meant to make you feel like royalty.
Strangely cheap for its unique and great taste! Always one of my favourites.
Excellent rapport qualité-prix. J'y reviens toujours. À déguster seul. Je le préfère au 15 ans, il est plus doux. Un peu sucré, demeure très équilibré.
Excellent value for money. I always come back to it. I prefer it to the 15-Year El Dorado, it is softer. A little sweet, but remains very balanced.
80 proof, no ice sip test
Medium smoke nose, dark sweet aroma
Smooth in mouth, no bitter aftertaste, pleasant lingering smokiness.
I am tasting this alongside the ED 15. The ED 12 holds its own to the more expensive ED 15, providing its unique smoky, dark demerara flavor. Good balance of flavor and alcohol.

Really nice. Golden brown colored. Smooth and soft, tastes like honey, brown sugar and some fruit. Even better than it's older brother 15 years old. One of my favorite.
Strongly recommend. Great value
Lush tropical fruit and spice nose with hints of honey and dark sugar...
"El Dorado 12-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
It’s sweeter with more delicate fruit flavours coming to the fore.
"It’s very sweet and quite light. It’s very easy drinking. As a sipping rum it as easy to drink."

I really like this rum, with Pampero aniversario it is the best for its price. I think it might be apreciated by rum beginners.
Aroma: Light, sweet and spiced
Taste: Well balanced spiced/fruity taste with specific tone, smooth, sweet but not too sweet.
Copared to:
Pampero anniverasario: Eldorado is bit more sweet, Pampero little more fruity
Diplomatico res exl.: Eldorado is less sweet and more full body
