Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled

El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.

Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

Per me il miglior 12 years provato, sapore un po' piรน light rispetto al 15 years ma comunque vale la spesa sicuramente. Dolce suadente molto equilibrato con un buon finale.

So smooth, poor on ice, get comfortable and enjoy the smoothness! My favorite rum at the moment!

This is my go to rum and for good reason at $32-35 a bottle CDN you can't go wrong, I have turned a lot of friends onto this rum and most of them whisky drinkers. It's good mixed or straight personally I pour some into my Glencairn at room temperature let it breathe for a few mins.

Nose: fruity, oak and baking spices
Taste : heavy on the brown sugar, oak, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg
Throat: sweet and spicy and quite smooth

I bit harsh to sip but with a touch of Sprite is has a smooth woody taste with a caramel finish. Very nice.

I may be a bit of a hard grader, but this didn't impress. A bit spicier than I had expected.

A lot of fruit in the nose, smooth taste of caramel, a good choice for this price.

Definitely a quality aged rum, but there's nothing in particular that really makes it stand out.

Similar smell and taste as Ron Zacapa. Smooth and little bit sweet.

I believe that this product is a markedly different blend than the regular line - definitely not just a younger version of the 15-year. Yes, added sugar, like the rest of the line, which has started to detract for me. Highly recommendable.

The demerara sugar has its merits in this rum. Along the line of rums which are sweet, this one is great. Flavors of pear, apple and oak. It is a toss-up between this one and Dictador 20 years in this line of rums. I normally sip a bit of this one, then go to K&S or Pampero for a second different sip.
