Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled
El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.
Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

This rum is good all around, this a go to neet or mixed and it's priced pretty well too. Sample on.
So smooth, poor on ice, get comfortable and enjoy the smoothness! My favorite rum at the moment!
This is my go to rum and for good reason at $32-35 a bottle CDN you can't go wrong, I have turned a lot of friends onto this rum and most of them whisky drinkers. It's good mixed or straight personally I pour some into my Glencairn at room temperature let it breathe for a few mins.
Nose: fruity, oak and baking spices
Taste : heavy on the brown sugar, oak, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg
Throat: sweet and spicy and quite smooth

I bit harsh to sip but with a touch of Sprite is has a smooth woody taste with a caramel finish. Very nice.

I may be a bit of a hard grader, but this didn't impress. A bit spicier than I had expected.

Definitely a quality aged rum, but there's nothing in particular that really makes it stand out.

Similar smell and taste as Ron Zacapa. Smooth and little bit sweet.

Nice sipper, a bit sweet (I know it has a lot of added sugar) but for my personal taste it's bearable. Hints of oak, vanilla and orange peel. Good for a night with few friends or just by yourself. Very good for beginners, no burn at all.
