Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still Distilled
El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.
Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

Sweet and warm, with good essences of smoked wood. It's a rum for "every day" drinking. Not to much complex, but good structure and pleasant to taste with friends.
Sweet, cheap, easy drinkable and you can drink it as an everyday rum
Good taste. Good flavour. Good colour. Pretty good rum.
Good price and deep smooth rum. Definitely a re-buy.
Really good product for the range of price. Fruity smooth and a touch of spice. The taste remain in mouth just like a good pricey sipper. Definitly worth trying.
very nice sweet rum easy on the pallet easy on the nose goes down very well straight up
Amazing taste, color and aromas. One staple in my bar for a sipping rum.
Nice rum with charater, not for everyday. Perfect for a chilly evenindg
Really versatile, with the price can mix or sip. I generally sip though
Lush tropical fruit and spice nose with hints of honey and dark sugar...
"El Dorado 12-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
It’s sweeter with more delicate fruit flavours coming to the fore.
"It’s very sweet and quite light. It’s very easy drinking. As a sipping rum it as easy to drink."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I used to love the Diplomatico Exclusiva rum, but as you delve deeper... it is after some time just sweet and otherwise a little bland. This rum is similar, but apart from the smoothness and sweetness it gives such a lot of various tones and flavors... mainly almonds (slighty bitter) and the barrel-taste (woodish tones).
Try and compare ;)
EDIT: Moved to 8/10 once I tried El Dorado 15 (9/10) and letting an open 10/10 once I taste 21-year old ;)
