El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including double wooden pot stills and are aged in bourbon oak casks.
Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

Excellent rapport qualité-prix. J'y reviens toujours. À déguster seul. Je le préfère au 15 ans, il est plus doux. Un peu sucré, demeure très équilibré.
Excellent value for money. I always come back to it. I prefer it to the 15-Year El Dorado, it is softer. A little sweet, but remains very balanced.

nose is strong, licorice and sweet
taste is same. very good and powerful rum. aftertase is dry
maybe the best valuerum
Great rum for on the rocks. Averagely smooth. Also a great mixer. Good gift as an introduction to the Guyana rum without being too expensive.
This one is a very well made. A very pleasant sipping rum for a fair price.
Imo better then the El Dorado 15. Way less sweet but sweet enough...
Nose first a little flat but opens up wonderfully after 5-10 minutes in a cup. Rich and complex with vanilla, honey and molasse. After 15+ minutes there are hints of exotic fruites: banana, papaya and a little oak.
Taste is wonderfull, very well ballanced: honey and oak, not bitter nor dry, less complex than the nose but very smooth. Nice oily texture...
The finish is quite long: some oak, little vanilla, much honey and molasse, a little dry in the end but not bitter at all. Very inviting for the next sipp. Very very little afterburn.
Would buy again for 39.00$, but the Abuelo 7 that I bought together with this bottle was 34.00$ and was almost as good: less complex but with a richer nose and a more mouth filling texture and a little less sweet than the El Dorado 12. So I will go with the Abuelo 7 for my next purchase...

Really nice. Golden brown colored. Smooth and soft, tastes like honey, brown sugar and some fruit. Even better than it's older brother 15 years old. One of my favorite.
Strongly recommend. Great value

Quite similar to Malteco 10Y or 15Y. Very good choice.

Dalsi sladky rum a teda aj moj oblubeny. Vo voni citim vyrazne hrozienka a melasu. Chut zodpoveda voni, aj ked je v nom pomerne dost citit alkohol, popija sa velmi prijemne. Cena v porovnani s tym co dostanete je prijatelna...

Not quite the 'zing'
of the 15 years old El Dorado, but this affordable venue is good on its own, as well as in cocktails of course...
Lush tropical fruit and spice nose with hints of honey and dark sugar...
"El Dorado 12-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
It’s sweeter with more delicate fruit flavours coming to the fore.
"It’s very sweet and quite light. It’s very easy drinking. As a sipping rum it as easy to drink."

Bon rapport qualité prix. Un rhum de cette âge pour le prix, wow! Un goût de vanille et très épicé. Très boisé. Couleur très foncé j aime bien.
