El Dorado 12-Year

Understandable that people love this. It is easy to sip and has a nice flavour buried under all the sweetness. More of a delicious rum liqueur than a true rum.

Put it this way: When I make an old fashioned with it, I omit the sugar.

This is my first bottle of rum, I'm new to rum and new to alcohol, so take with a pinch of salt
IV tried a glass or two of standard pub rums
This smells like hand cleaner, first fresh taste is overly spicy just alcohol, long aftertaste of the same
Leave it to breathe for several minutes and it slowly gains some taste, I only drink neat without ice or mixer
First few mins in and it tastes like a poor spiced rum, 20+ mins later and it has a nice smooth long aftertaste, sweet enough like burnt caramel, could be better but raised my score up to 5

Pro můj vkus strašlivě přeparfémovaný, i když jinak vcelku poživatelný hypermarketový rum. Pampero Aniversario (určitě najdete v regálu hned vedle) mi přijde jako výrazně lepší investice.

I may be a bit of a hard grader, but this didn't impress. A bit spicier than I had expected.

Some reviews state that sugar was added or artificial sweeteners. Not quite sure how this rum has high alcohol to the nose with a strong bitter burnt taste. I specifically bought this in hopes of finding a "Sweet Rum". No go for me.

Has some nice flavors but the absurd amount of added sugar masks what otherwise may have been good rum. El Dorado is notorious for sugaring their rums far beyond any reasonable standard...so who knows what this rum really tastes like, without the added sweeteners and coloring agents?

Tohle davam do coly, protoze chutove to je slabsi - zvlastni kombinace korenene a vanilkove chuti. Mene vyrazne, ale colu to prijemne ovoni...

Doesn't quite excite like its competitors but isn't something I would turn down.

Minusom rumu je nie az tak prijemna aroma. Rovnako v chuti citit trpkost, zrejme po burbone.
