This Agricole Blanc was a gift from my son last summer.
On the nose it’s intense, fruity, spicy, floral, grassy and dry with a certain sharpness.
On the palate it’s a little bit rustic and the aromas from the nose explodes in the mouth. On the palate it’s also possible to recognize pepper and lime.
In summary it’s powerful, intense and balanced.
I’ve tested it in a Ti Punch and it was great.

When you open the bottle you find yourself immedeately in a cloud of pure sugar cane juice. The first sip is sweet with the sugar cane field blooming on your palate, then you taste the typical grassy and fruity citric flavours of an Agricole. Of course you feel the burn of the 55% but far less than you'd expect. However I prefer this young one in a Mojito with sweet balm and mint and a dash of sparkling water to disarm it a bit. Great Rum - if you like Agricoles!

Strong, but smooth fruity flavour. It can be easily drunk straight. This is my first agricole rum, I am looking forward to some aged one.

In the bottle purchased in Denver. Pours clear. Fantastic aroma of rising bread dough and yeasty off gassing. Up front cotton candy sweetness followed by a strong but quick burn. Mild but pleasant bitter finish. Some mild anise flavors. Yummy.

This a traditional, unaged Rhum Agricole Blanc made from fresh pressed sugar cane juice fermented and distilled on a column still from a traditional producer in Martinique that is perhaps not quite as well known as some of the bigger Rhum Agricole producers. It is bottled at slightly above what I refer to as Ti Punch strength. It is bottle at 55%. So how does this hold up to other unaged Agricoles?

On the nose I get fresh Seawater like a dirty brininess. I also get Grass, Green Olives, and a smell akin to dried Corn Stalks in autumn. It’s definitely Rhum Agricole Blanc but also a bit different.

Taking a sip I immediately get a mouthful of chalk-like minerality and seawater like accidentally taking in a mouthful of the ocean at the beach. Additionally I get note like boiled Corn Stalks, like when you boil whole corn ears with a bit of the stalk. It’s like sucking on that boiled stalk part. With the addition of water it becomes sweet in an almost artificial sweetener way, much like Aspertame.

As the rum leaves my mouth initially I get the return of that Chalk minerality and then fresh Hay stems like picking hay stalk stems and chewing them. Next I get a strong chemical note almost like Glycerol. Long after the rum had left my mouth I get fresh Rainwater and a light Chlorine note

This is good. It’s just fine. It has some classic Agricole Blanc notes and a few interesting notes. But it isn’t as synchronous or pungent as rums like Neisson Blanc or Clement Canne Blueu. But it’s solid, and perfectly enjoyable. It’s not something I would normally sip on but that isn’t really why I got it anyway.

I got this rhum for Ti Punch and it makes a solid enjoyable, even if not incredibly expressive, Ti Punch. This is not going to beat out Neisson, Clement Canne Bleue, or the Clairins but it’s not bad at all. It’s a good a solid Rhum that makes a decent Ti Punch.

Really like this. It has the ultra-fresh grassy flavor of a good agricole, but I'm detecting a bit of extra flavor in there, almost like a clairin/haitian rum. Love it, and would get it again.

The HSE Blanc 55 is an Agricole from Martinique, which is bottled without storage in cask strength of 55% alcohol in a 1l bottle.

The rhum is very special in the nose. Pure sugar cane juice shoots into the nose. It's hard for me to find other flavors. I'm not at home here. On the palate then the surprise. The rhum is pleasantly sweet and the alcohol is well integrated. A beautiful fruit note with some citrus is recognizable. Agricole notes last a long time.

Not quite suitable for sipping, but possible. For mixing and blending a very good rhum. Definitely worth an experience.

This HSE version packs a LOT of power. So much energy, funk, grass, mud and soil that it’s impossible not to like it :)

Try and you wont regret. Vanilla, fruits, cane sugar juice...- one of my favourites beside Neisson ja Dillon whites.

Neisson is on another level with a rating of 9, HSE Blanc 55 is 8 for me.
