Pusser's Gunpowder Proof 3-Year

While only based on tasting a 2 cl sample, I immediately liked the full flavour and wonderful smell. Good stuff.

For the proof, it's much better than expected. However, I don't find it to be a very interesting rum. Seems flat to me, but it seems most don't agree? I'm not sure, maybe I'm broken.

Delicious sweet toffee flavor balanced with an intense heat from the higher proof. Quite nice.

Definitely strong - not as smooth as I like my sippers, but close and quite flavorful. And a little 'funky'. I'm talking myself into a higher rating ....

Orange notes of the aroma give vivacity. There are sweetness, bitterness and burning are harmonious in taste. And bread crust, i'm not indifferent to Demerara. Wood appears in the long aftertaste. I liked Navy style. .,.,.,. Вкус несложный, но очень удачный, запоминающийся. Опьянение быстрое и несколько тяжеловатое.

Tons of flavor here! Smooth mouth feel with slight burn on the swollow. Flavors of chocolate, raisin, burnt carmel, and molasses. A shade to sweet for me, but this almost goes unnoticed because of the flavor explosion. Same flavors on a long warming finish. One of the best overproofs in my book.

Základný rum tohto brandu, British Navy Blue Label, som hodnotil cca pred rokom, vtedy mi moc nesadol pre svoju intenzívnu ťažkú chuť, s doprovodom pachuti slivovice. Teraz otváram silnejšieho súrodenca s voltážou 54,5%, rovnakou, ako mali v minulosti rumy britských námorníkov, ktorí si takto zabezpečovali pri každodennej náročnej rutine dostatočnú úroveň morálky. Farba je tmavšia, vôňa znovu hutná a intenzívna, no veľmi príjemná a pestrá. Vyššie percento alkoholu je samozrejme okamžite poznať na jazyku, no pri opatrnom dúšku je rum stále v pohode piteľný. Tóny sú veľmi podobné ako pri prv spomenutom Blue Label, mám silný dojem, že sa jedná len o jeho koncentrovanejšiu formu. Karamel, koža, ťažký ovocný lekvár, pripálené hrozienka, trocha škorice, určite je tam viac pre mňa ťažšie definovateľných odtieňov. Výhodou je, že v horúcich dňoch sa človek nemusí báť prihodiť pár kociek ľadu, ani po zriedení nezostane v pohári planý nápoj. Rum je jemne nasládly, nepôsobí našťastie dojmom prílišného dochucovania. Na konci trochu zhorkne, celkový dojem je ale solídny. Za dané peniaze skutočne veľa muziky, bezpečne sa vrátim aj k prvému skúšanému. Je to úplne iná káva ako tuctové "vanilka-karamel" typy, ktoré človek bez nejakej svojbytnosti/identity stretáva čoraz častejšie. Subjektívne 6-7, tento druh je každopádne u mňa na vzostupe, palec hore.

I am already a fan for the blue Pusser's rum. This one has the same taste, but with very strong alcohol. I can't wait for the winter to take this on a ski trip with me as it warms me up so well (both the body and the soul).

A great navy-style rum, bottled at navy-proof. It has a bold flavor of Demerara rum and that typical navy-style component of molasses or burnt caramel, and works great in cocktails.

Dark mahogany in color. On the nose it's very complex, multilayer mix of sweet burnt caramel, leather, nutmeg, oak, dark toffee, cinnamon, very nice. What a rush on palate, I get lots of spices, nice warm alcohol taste (thanks to overproofing) leather, oak, nutmeg and cinnamon. Not so sweet as scent was. Burnt caramel lingers with many spices very long time.
Indeed, an upgrade of the original version. This grows some hair on your chest, in a positive way.
