English style navy strenth, Guyana. Hits all the right boxes, but its not my favorite.
Proofed too high to enjoy multiple glasses.
I drink my rum neat and don't prefer the burn that comes with the higher alcohol content. That being said, the flavors of this rum are pretty good. It has a long finish but most of that is the alcohol burn.
My favourite gunpowder proof... so far! Molasses is strong
the only way we serve this rum is with coke, gunpowder rum & coke so you mask the
gunpowder sweetness and the customer is satisfied ! neat or with ice in my opinion is undrinkable ! will try to find a bottle of black tot or Velier navy rum because i m really curios of how a true navy rum can be ... and no i m not scared of the high ABV, i m scared of this sugar adding practice (who read some my reviews will see my disgust for this products ...)
his strength is not a problem, the problem is that it taste bad, additives ?
Krzywy trudu tutti takich Turcji tutti GG to jak uznaj do g
I have enjoyed single malt Scot's whiskies and bourbon for many years and thought I would venture into the world of dark rum. I abhor the thought of coke or pepsi in any drink, so the Pusser's GP looked to be a great sipping experiment. I always add incremental splashes of water to any whisk(e)y at this proof to my taste, but only after trying it without first. This rum is brilliant at full proof, but even more splendid with a few splashes of water. All the previous reviewers notes of various flavours are fully evident, so I need not re-describe those. I paired this with an Oliva Serie V Melanio and simply cannot believe how incredible the pairing is! Previously, my go-to cigar whiskey was Knob Creek 9 year or Elijah Craig Small Batch, but after pairing the Pusser's GP, I'm reaching for this rum consistently now. My next venture will be the Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva - I found a nice gift pack with two tumblers at a great price....
It's quite a force, and it's not for normal drinking. I'll try it with ice, or for drinks, or instead of plum brandy in the winter to warm up :-)
Abgang ziemlich langanhaltend.
It is fruity, hints of smokiness.
"It’s not sickly and overly spiced like some navy rums. There is a real complexity about this rum with a lot of flavour. ."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

NR: Great Navy style rum (pure Guyana blend), very good for the price

I like Navy style rums, so it was just a question of time, when I get my hands on this one.
The nose and the taste are quite dark. Not very fruity, but with molasses and honey.
I like this combination and the balance. The blend is still strong with 54.5%, but this abv was a very good choice. There is something musty in the nose, that I know from Demerara rums (molasses coated casks - MDXC). That's why it's pretty clear, this blend is a Guyana rum. Because of the raisins there is also a proportion of Enmore still rum in the blend.
In the taste Demerare flavors are very dominant but I get also some Jamaica flavors first (don't know how they delevoped them out of Guyana rum) and then Guyana in the middle and the finish.
The taste is dark with molasses and some tanins in the background. I like the molasses, raisins, wood flavors. This is what I expect from a good navy blend.
The old label says it was a blend of Guyana, Trinidad, Barbados rum. Now it's a pure Demerara blend. I don't have the medical note in the taste, it's pretty clear that there is no other rum inside. But there is also a typical Jamaica note in the taste, the question is how they created it.
For 21€ this one is a great bargain, unbeliveable cheap and good. If you like navy rums, I recommend this one.
This one is almost the best classic navy blend and I think the rating of 83 is appropriate.
Nose: musty walnuts, caramel, raisins, burned sugar, coffee, black tea, fruits (papaya), earth, molasses, honey, chocolate
Taste: burned sugar, raisins, jamaica fruits (like in Plantation OFTD) with molasses (salt/coffee), wood/tanins

Finish: spice, dark fruits, wood with tanins, molasses with honey, coffee
Aftertaste: molasses, coffee, honey, raisins, caramel/vanilla, apple
Sweetness: 2/5
Fruits: 2.5/5
Spice: 3.5/5

Nice fact:
"The navy tot by the way was often mixed with a little lime juice (to prevent scurvy) and sugar (undoubtedly to smooth out what would have been very young rum). This process may have pushed rum into the "anything goes" spirit we often see in products today. But by the way, a squeeze of lime is pretty good in rum…"
