Very full nose, with strong raisin notes. Within my experience, this feels a bit like the notes of a Spanish style but with the pungency of a Jamaican to back it up. On the palate, quite forceful and alcoholic at first but quickly recedes to leave lingering cola and spice notes. A great sipper and amazing value at the price!

If you like Naval rums, you'll probably enjoy this. The extra proof makes it worth adding ice, or water, to release some changing flavours as you sip. A worthy drink, if not a great one

Love this rum, lots and lots of caramel and toffee on the nose and palate, really viscous, the alcohol is not overpowering at all even though this is a high proof rum. For about $35 this is must have in your bar.

I decided that my first Pusser's will be Gunpowder. And this was good choise. Strong but smooth with good flavor

Yes, this was ok, Strong but a nice finish.
And you can always put Coke in it

A lovely dark rum, sweet both on the nose and palate that is replaced by a powerful alcohol taste that leaves a lovely toffee caramel flavour in your mouth as it dissipates.

I have only drunk this neat and whilst I enjoy it, the powerful alcohol taste that comes through limits the enjoyment to a single generous measure, rather than an evening companion.

Dark, heavy, Guyanese. Caramel, burnt sugar, a little buttery, oaky. Deep and dark, strong on the nose, but inviting. Dark licorice aroma (not black licorice at all, like dark red licorice), some vanilla... Strong, you know it's overproof. Tasty, but the burn is strong. A little ice or water softens it up. The burn is still there, but it's pleasant, warming.
I think this would be great in a Dark and Stormy, I'll have to try that next.

I've tried it neat, and it doesn't really offer anything interesting, but it's really good in grog
