This is just a cheap rum only useful mixed to get hammered. It's drinkable and thats about it

This was my first introduction to spiced rum and I have been trying others ever since, almost 2 years ago now. Have an affection for this as my 'first love but it is slowly dropping down the pecking order

easily accessible, alright price and goes down with ease. nothing special but gets the job done.

Spice Gold is a very pleasant, social drinking rum. It is a nice rum to have with coke while sitting outside and enjoying the outdoors.

I have a soft spot for this rum as it was my introduction to spiced rum. However, after broadening my horizons, I've realised it's not great. Still love it though

I used to consider Morgan Spiced Gold as my daily mixer rum of choice back in the UK and also during a couple of years in South Africa where Morgans is available everywhere.

Then i moved to Australia and tried Sailor Jerry and that replaced Morgan as my benchmark daily rum.

Morgan is a nice spiced mixing rum but not for special occasions.

I'm rating this as a mixer, not a sipping rum.. which seems to be how everyone rates sub $20 rums. Yes this is a cheaper rum, but the vanilla and spice is really enjoyable. A rum and coke is always delicious with this stuff. But the less pop you use, the worse it gets. Not a strong favor profile, but its made for mixing.

Not so great taste, a bit harsh but not very bad either. Tastes great in cocktails with coke.

If you want to introduce friends to rum this is it. With Lemonade or Sprite something sweet.
Other than that its boring, yes taste nice but boring.

In college I hated beer, so my girlfriend's dad (now my father-in-law) suggested that I try Captain and Coke. I was hooked. It was another 15 years before I discovered rum beyond the Cuba Libre, but I have no problems going back to my roots. Not a sipper, but I wouldn't turn down a cocktail made with it, and I'll always give the Captain a snappy salute!

I drank this with coke. It was terrible. You'd think that was the end of the story but no.
I drank it standalone, and I was very close to threwing up (and this was not beacuse I was drunk).
Sorry it's not just good, I mean yeah it's kinda cheap but you can get MUCH better for $5 more.
