It really is an iconic taste. Gold in colour. A lot going on. Not heavy on the nose or the palate. It's definitely a benchmark

I think this is a great mixer with dry and lime.
Not a neat sipper.
There's better close to the price point.
New to rum but this is bad!!! I like to drink spirits neat but this....
Sends shivers down my spine and not in a good way!!!

Even for a spiced rum this is too sweet. OK with a Coke or Sprite but never alone or as a mixer. Best part is the aroma and marketing. Safe at a bar but others are better...

This rum is, in my humble opinion, completely acceptable. It has no obvious faults, to me anyway, but I am not a super well-versed rum connoisseur. I do find this particular Captain completely adequate to spend some time with late at night. Or just a couple earlier, as the case might be.

I have no idea if any other captain morgan product is drinkable because this one is so horrifically bad.. I will never drink this stuff again. Barely even worth using to clean dog poo off your shoes...
I drank this as a teenager once because the bootlegger mixed up my order for beer. Vomit City. Least favourite rum on the planet earth so far..
A great rum if you're a teenager looking to get drunk fast for little cost - indeed this was my introduction to rum. Perhaps that is why I will still give it a 3 and not lower, it's definitely drinkable but right at the bottom of rums I'd like to drink. I certainly wouldn't spend money on it. Lots of synthetic vanilla flavour to it, don't bother trying to sip this one.

its like there is so many better options. Its classic supermarket stuff.
The nose on this rum is sharp, sweet and artificial. It smells almost cloyingly sickly sweet.
"It really is just vanilla, vanilla and a touch more vanilla. There is no subtlety, no hints of spices not even a hint of ginger or anything worth while. Its basically Vanilla flavoured rum."

No cóż... dawno nie było rumu proszę państwa! Więc trzeba to naprawić kolejnym cyklem - dajmy na to pięciu wpisów, dokładnie tak jak to miało miejsce poprzednio. Z początkiem roku zebrało się trochę materiału ale zaczniemy spokojnie, od gwiazdy niemal każdego sieciowego sklepu - niezależnie małego, dużego a nawet duty free w kraju oraz za granicą - przed państwem drugi już na blogu Captain Morgan! Tym razem nie jest to 100% rum a bazowany na rumie blend z przyprawami o przystępnej mocy 35%. Nie unikniemy porównań lub bezpośredniego nazywania tego "napoju spirytusowego" rumem - w każdym razie grzech byłoby tego trunku nie opisać.
Materiał do testów zdobyłem jak zwykle sam - promocja w Hipermarkecie, zbliżający się wyjazd w góry, słuszna i ładna butelka, dobre towarzystwo - obstawiam iż w takim zestawie spisze się znakomicie.
ZAPACH: Wanilia, szare mydło, kleje, troszkę miodu, słodycz oraz bardzo delikatne bandaże. Zapach wydaje się być chemiczny oraz sztuczny.
SMAK: Słodycz, guma balonowa, palony cukier, aromat waniliowy, limonka oraz wyczuwalny alkohol. W drinku jest ok, można by rzec poprawnie. Jest słodko, całość przypomina trochę likier co pewnie niektórych odbiorców urcieszy.
Trunek natychmiastowo kategoryzujemy jako "party rum", niewymagajacy ale też nie przesadnie prosty lub płaski. Alkohol obecny, młody, wyraźny gryzie w miarę spożywania oraz potrafi dawać wrażenie wypicia kilku kieliszków wódki. Nawet przyjemnie pije się saute (tak jak wspominałem daje wrażenie likieru) ale to dzięki dodatkom oraz słodyczy niż wpływowi beczek oraz leżakowania na aromat.
Captain Morgan Spiced Gold nie jest przesadnie drogi (w porównaniu do swojej konkurencji), a do tego często bywa na promocjach - z przysłowiowego "braku laku" można chwycić za butelkę gdy cena oscyluje wokół 50pln/0,7. Ja niestety będę wybierał wersję black lub tańsze odpowiedniki. Captain Morgan Spiced Original jest mocno rozpoznawalne wśród ludzi, ma wyrobioną markę która niestety nie ma uzasadnienia w stosunku cena/jakość tego produktu.
