If your after cheap non aged rum that has cheap spices then this is your rum.
Terrible first taste, terrible last taste and pretty much the same in between.
Got it free and I would not pay for the distaste ever.

Captain Morgan is available anywhere you go, and is always a pretty good value. Any sea captain who takes up residence at as many ports as Captain Morgan does almost surely must have some sort of lethal venereal disease, so you have to hand it to the captain for remaining a decent and reliable choice of rum despite its scale of production and price. There are other cheap spiced rums that are a little less cloying, but this one will do just fine for colas and social occasions.

Tastes like acetone. Not a sipper for me in any way, it barely passes as a decent spike for your drinks if you balance it out with more than just cola. Add some coffee beans, some fresh lemon/orange/lime squeeze and then add your cola if you want to make something decent out of it, but if I want to make cocktails I'll gladly buy a Havana or a Legendario any day of the week

What proper rum bar would be complete without a bottle of Captain on it? I don’t actually drink it but I have an older bottle that looks cool and every so often I open it just to smell some spiced vanilla

It's cheap, it's everywhere, it's drinkable. Too sweet, too plain. Sometimes too expensive, in those cases you shouldn't buy it.

No cóż... dawno nie było rumu proszę państwa! Więc trzeba to naprawić kolejnym cyklem - dajmy na to pięciu wpisów, dokładnie tak jak to miało miejsce poprzednio. Z początkiem roku zebrało się trochę materiału ale zaczniemy spokojnie, od gwiazdy niemal każdego sieciowego sklepu - niezależnie małego, dużego a nawet duty free w kraju oraz za granicą - przed państwem drugi już na blogu Captain Morgan! Tym razem nie jest to 100% rum a bazowany na rumie blend z przyprawami o przystępnej mocy 35%. Nie unikniemy porównań lub bezpośredniego nazywania tego "napoju spirytusowego" rumem - w każdym razie grzech byłoby tego trunku nie opisać.
Materiał do testów zdobyłem jak zwykle sam - promocja w Hipermarkecie, zbliżający się wyjazd w góry, słuszna i ładna butelka, dobre towarzystwo - obstawiam iż w takim zestawie spisze się znakomicie.
ZAPACH: Wanilia, szare mydło, kleje, troszkę miodu, słodycz oraz bardzo delikatne bandaże. Zapach wydaje się być chemiczny oraz sztuczny.
SMAK: Słodycz, guma balonowa, palony cukier, aromat waniliowy, limonka oraz wyczuwalny alkohol. W drinku jest ok, można by rzec poprawnie. Jest słodko, całość przypomina trochę likier co pewnie niektórych odbiorców urcieszy.
Trunek natychmiastowo kategoryzujemy jako "party rum", niewymagajacy ale też nie przesadnie prosty lub płaski. Alkohol obecny, młody, wyraźny gryzie w miarę spożywania oraz potrafi dawać wrażenie wypicia kilku kieliszków wódki. Nawet przyjemnie pije się saute (tak jak wspominałem daje wrażenie likieru) ale to dzięki dodatkom oraz słodyczy niż wpływowi beczek oraz leżakowania na aromat.
Captain Morgan Spiced Gold nie jest przesadnie drogi (w porównaniu do swojej konkurencji), a do tego często bywa na promocjach - z przysłowiowego "braku laku" można chwycić za butelkę gdy cena oscyluje wokół 50pln/0,7. Ja niestety będę wybierał wersję black lub tańsze odpowiedniki. Captain Morgan Spiced Original jest mocno rozpoznawalne wśród ludzi, ma wyrobioną markę która niestety nie ma uzasadnienia w stosunku cena/jakość tego produktu.
