Easily consumable in a bind
Very good for the money. Nothing complicated, suitable for mixing or having just one or two shots straight. Good to give to drunk friends who want to have some rum after 10 beers or something and you really dont want to waste the more expensive stuff ;)
This one is a bit more delicate cousin of Havana Club 3y, with which it shares the pronounced tobacco notes, white oak and leather taste, but the taste profile smoother than HC3, mellowed by the added cane sugar, with hints of tropical fruits and a bit of vanilla. Decent Cuban mixer and good value for money. If you are into Cuban rums as I am, you can try to sip it, there is some alcohol burn, but nothing an adult could not survive.
Not a good choice for me. Very dry, strong alcohol taste. Calling for being killed with coke. I like milder and more complex rums. Reading the reviews here, I am surprised this gets almost 6 in avg. Maybe it’s just me though ;-).
My expectations was not very high about this one but it is very solid rum. Similiar sweetness like diplomatico or legendario. Smooth with flavours of vanilla, honey and caramel. If you like sweet rums this is good and cheap choice.
Enjoyed a glass of Ron Cubay Añejo Suave at La Bodequita del Medio in Ciudad de Mexico. Bottle is rather basic, but the label design is pretty nice. Color is light golden. Alcohol is very strong to the nose and palate. A lot of burn at the end, so mix it up for your own sanity.
It is a nice sipping rum, but for this sweetness there is sugar in it, i think
As mentioned rum Connaisseur, before you get what you pay. for beginners and drunken friends.
In the nose is nothing special, in the mouth sweetness and toffee, wood. and then not much more.
But for this price, a nice one!
