A nice aroma but has some ethanol undertones. According to the label there is caramel coloring added which would explain the dark amber hue with bronze highlights around the edges of my snifter. According to their website the rum is aged " in Charred Missouri Oak barrels" but I cannot find just how long it was aged. If I had to guess I would say it was maybe a year, perhaps less since it has a bit of a bite like a light rum however it has a slight oakiness to it but not much. Not as smooth as the website claims. Also it does taste sugared although by how much is unknown.

A fairly decent rum worthy of a Cuba Libre but could be so much better if allowed to age at least 4 years in those barrels.
