Visited the Trois Rivieres distillery while vacationing in Martinique. Distillery tours were closed, but open tasting bar was available. Trois Rivieres Millesime 2006 was priced at EUR 44 per bottle at the distillery. Nice and sturdy box surrounding a basic bottle and label design. Light golden color. Traditional very dry Rhum Agricole flavors complemented with plenty of grass, floral notes and plenty of oak to your nose and palate. Quite a kick at the end. Rhum Agricole lovers can add 2 points to the score.
The tradition with no added sugar that is the constant mark for agricole rum is really something to admire in this day and age. This rum from Trois Rivieres is one of the best I have tasted.
Nose: Liquorice and gingerbread with a small hint of wood
Taste: Gingerbread, light tobacco, wood and liquorice with a long and complex aftertaste
Overall: This is some damn good rum. You owe it to yourself to try this one. It might be a little strong and complex if you are used to the sweeter rums, but it is definitely a rum to try for everyone. Be warned. You can easily become addicted.
A 43 deg et un profil douple et moins boisé.c le single cask le plus doux de leur distillerie.robe doree.c est un regal.mon preferé chez eux.le 12 ans est aussi tres bon mais la fin de bouche moins.
This Rhum has a nice balance of flavor and power. Not a Rhum for beginners.
Beautiful grown old rum in oak barrels of Limousin. With floral and mineral notes with a spicy finish and a marine side that gives this rum a cool expression. Rate should be 8,5
