I love Appleton Signature for tiki drink mixes, this is why I give it an 8...why bother spending more if you are mixing it. Sure you could get a 12 year Appleton and it is great but when the other ingredients blend the tiki Gods are smiling:) Aloha from West Palm Beach Fl!

It's a young blend. You will find bananas, grass and some fruitiness. The finish is not so long. Very balanced rum, not overpowering also. I buyed at sale for 15euro 1l. and for that money is difficult to find something better. Usually, I'm using the signature in cocktails. Good for daquiris and some other tiki classics like mai tai.

I would get a bottle of this standard Appleton Estate Signature or a Mount Gay (Eclipse), get some fiery ginger beer, and head down to Notting Hill Carnival to dance, eat and be very merry. For that alone, it gets a 6. I don't think I've ever tried to sip it and I'm not gonna start now, but I applaud them for getting many a young Londoner on the rum bandwagon.

This blend is a decent mixer and not much else beyond that. Tried neat, there's not much interesting going on.

For the money it's a good mixer but too harsh to drink it neat. Not that balanced, not too much funk but you get that Jamaica rum flavors for sure. You don't have to be sorry if you want to try cocktails with it.

The nose on this rum is almost undetectable but delivers just a hint of butterscotch. The flavor is sweet and brandy-ish. It is all alcohol burn with a slight sweetness, but no significant overtones of other flavors. It has a kind of a dry scotch finish that ends quickly. It seems like a good mixer but does not offer much for slow sipping.

I think this is a good rum to introduce new comers to Jamaican rum. You know it's Jamaican from the nose and taste, but it is quite mild on the flavor, no real complexity, definitely no "funk". Some alcohol on the nose too, but it is reasonably smooth. Some molasses and a bit of bitterness on a fairly short finish. Not a fantastic sipper but not the worst either, works well as a mixer, and worth the price as such.

Was on vacation in Jamaica. Had to get a bottle from the cruise ship terminal and went with this one. It’s okay…not great and barely gets to good but has a good nose on it. Taste is mainly alcohol and not a lot of flavor. Pleasant aftertaste and good smooth swallow.
