Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
At first the scent comes off as if it were going to be harsh, but then you take a sip and you figure out it’s just the strong spices coming out, with a medium caramel. The rum goes down smooth, not what I was expecting. For 20 dollars, it’s definitely better than captain org. and Bacardi spiced.
This is what I would pick at a bar to mix with Coke. It's not a bad rum, but it's not a stand out.
Not ideal for sipping, but a truly great value proper Rum for mixing and cocktails etc. Has a nice "liquorice" taste.
A very alcholic taste, little tones of other flavours. Maybe a little bit of oak flavour.
Nothing you would buy on your own, the earthiness was the only distinguishing feature of this, otherwise it is a high quality moonshine.
This may not be the best sipping rum but it’s much better than serviceable. I can’t actually understand mixing this but each to his own. This is the first fine rum I tried, I was in the USCG and enjoying shore leave in Ocho Rios. This rum brings back a lot of good memories, so this is likely not a subjective review.
It’s got a nice taste, hints of the cane. The nose is good. I really have nothing bad to say about it.
Not my favorite. I managed to finish the bottle but wouldntbgoboutbof my way again to purchase
A good well balanced flavour which I would expect coming from Jamaica but not very strong and that's this drinks only downfall.
Pretty standard mixer that’s a bit better than most other standard mixers.
From now on default jamaincan mixing rum in my bar.
Woody aroma, typical jamaican funk taste and heavy, deep and warm aftertaste which stands up in mixed drinks.
Good with come or Ginger beer.
Works well as a mixer. Not one for sipping.
This is a base from which other rums should be rated. Can't go wrong with this fine Jamaican rum.
This is my go to rum for mixing cocktails! Great price and gives the bite and sweetness needed for those mixed umbrella drinks ;)
Rhum de base à avoir chez soi pour préparer cocktails comme Daiqiri!
Not the best for sipping, it's ok if you let it rest for a while, a good mixer though.
Ok mixer £15 a bottle on offer but there are so many better options to choose from
A bit hot for a 40% rum. Sipped neat the funk is there in the background but not so much that it stands out in a mixed drink. Not a bad rum to keep on hand for tiki drinks like a Gold Cup.
Its a easygoing rum.
Not too bad, but also not great.
This was one I tried soon after getting into rum, after Morgan's spiced gold.
In really liked it in the early days but not as much as CM.
I now like others more
It mixes decently but doesn't work well for sipping. At the price there are better options. This replaced the vx which was better and could actually sip it.I rate it 4.5
Very smooth, nice to drink on the rocks. A common favorite between the wife and I.
A good everyday rum. Taste is good, not too tasty but ok for a late mixer. The standard.
I was hoping when I bought this that it would be an upgrade to the V/X but sadly it is still only a mixing rum not a sipping one. Having said that I have not tried it with a spot of water which might tone down the bite and burn.
Probably better as a mixer...not so much straight up. Lacks bold rum flavor and packs a solid alcohol bite. Just ok
