Dos Maderas PX 5 + 5 rum is made from a combination of rums from Barbados and Guyana. It is unique becuase of its triple ageding process where for 5 initial years the rum is aged in the Carribean in oak casks. Next PX 5 + 5 is aged in Spain for 5 years in sherry casks, and lastly for 2 more years in even older sherry casks.
The Dos Maderas family of rums are produced by Bodegas Williams & Humbert, which is a well known Spanish winery founded by Sir Alexander Williams in the late 1800s. The region of Spain where the winery is located has a climate perfectly suited for wine and is known as Europe's wine cellar.

Nice smooth finish. Flavor is pleasant start to finish, not very complex. A little on the sweet side.

It was my first rum what i drink. Unique rum aged in both the Caribbean and Spain, offering rich flavors of dried fruits, caramel, and oak. Smooth finish.

had been on my list to get for a while and pulled the pin when I saw it on sale. Loved everything about it. it didn't disappoint however the heat level was more intense than expected though I would not characterize it as harsh or aggressive. after waiting for 10 minutes the nose and taste is even better and its about as smooth as anything I've enjoyed. the 8 is solid but not sure why i'm hesitating to make this a 9 and looking forward to seeing this on the top shelf of my cabinet where it belongs! At $CAN 50 (Feb 2024) this is a winner and great value all day long.
This is a great rum for sipping and simple, more rum forward cocktails. I wouldn’t waste this in a mixed drink.

Neat - very good, strong and smokey. In cocktails can't feel the smoke, just a little bit sweet. Nice rum, tasty
