I had a really bad week, and I was broke and drank all of the Kirk and Sweeney 12 year in my liquor cabinet. Hiding in the back I spotted a bottle of Don Q that a friend had brought over and I put my nose in the air and quickly shoved it in the back to never be seen again until today. Not a horrible rum, but not something I would purposely buy to consume myself unless my pockets were light. Mixed with coke I think it tastes better than Bacardi
Bought this to mix. Trying on the rocks to rate. Very sweet and boozy. No real nice aging characteristics at all, straight up liquor. Must mix this, not good by itself.
Is a comercial rum. Good only in a cocktail combination.
Sampled this rum during a tasting seminar at Cardiff Rum Festival.
Not much to say about this one. Pretty standard cocktail bar fare. Not a sipper by a long shot. How old even is it? Got to be 1 or there abouts.
It’s a fine light gold rum. Perfect for a rum and coke
This poured a lighter color, definitely a pale gold. Not much of a nose, very light vanilla hint in there. The taste was pretty one dimensional too. I had higher hopes for this after trying Cristal. This one works better in some of the mixed drinks I've made with it.
Rum is so so but Puerto Rico is the best! Bruges from their neighbours is a lot better
Light straw colored, like white wine or cider. Light aroma, like an rubbing alcohol. Lightly sharp taste, a lot of alcohol. Use in a drink, maybe...?
About what you'd expect from a cheap rum with minimal age.

Sweet alcohol notes, a tiny hint of vanilla and maybe a touch of oak.
"You get sweetness but a fair hit of more metallic bitter notes. It has a pretty muted, yet smooth mouthfeel and a very short finish."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Almost no smell. Taste is also very mild. Nothing bad, but not too many good things either.
