First time trying opening the bottle today. The nose is a wonderful rich spicy wood with a hint of freshness that reminds me of German Kirsch. I am really liking the nose so far. It's Bourbon and Agricole in harmony. The palate definitely resembles the nose but I still need some more time to explore it. I can say for sure that the palate is well balanced. I think you'd be hard-pressed to get more out of 41.8% ABV. A very solid 8 and well worth the money.

Copper colored amber in the glass:
Warm and woody on the nose. A log cabin in the forest, it smells of wood, fresh wood, sawn and planed. You go in, inside is a wicker basket full of tropical fruits, some already overripe. Lychee , mangoes, banana, pineapple and some berries. Caramel drips from a toasted wooden bowl directly onto the fruit. Some marzipan is also seductively present.
Delicate and mouth-filling on the palate. You lick and suck on the wood, all the fruit dissolves and flows in flavor waves over your tongue. Mango, lychee, mangosteen, banana and pomelo surf deftly across the taste buds on caramelized boards. Spices and herbs float seaweed-like in the tides, pointing the way to soak up the soul of the rum.
The finish is long and delicious. The waves gradually run off the beach and the whitecaps slowly disappear.
Wow, what a pearl. A lot of rum for reasonable money, super. For advanced, connoisseurs and gourmets.
