Diplomatico Reserva

I have a love hate with Diplomatico, this bottle was wonderful, but some of their other stuff is odd.

I thought I knew rum before I drank this but this quickly turned me away from some of my favourites.
Its smooth, agile and soft on the pallet with enough flavour to keep you wanting more.

Très bon rapport qualité prix. Son élevage lui donne une complexité que j'aime particulièrement.

A very tasty rum with some exceptional flavors, for a very reasonable price.

This rum is very smooth and works very well in Coke Zero. I could enjoy this as a sipping rum in a pinch but rather have it in Coke Zero. Just one step below Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva. Well...maybe HALF a step. I love the fragrance in the bottle. Sweet and woodsy with a caramel odor. Nice sweetness with vanilla and caramel lingering on the tongue. A very mild burn which fades into a nice aftertaste. Definitely one to add in anyone's cabinet.

Flavourful and complex rum, not very sweet. Taste of sherry is there and also nuts, some berries, marsipan, marshmallow etc come to mind. For the price point you can't go wrong with this gem.

Leckerer Blend-Rum mit ausgeprägtem Orangennoten in Geruch und Geschmack. Nicht ganz so gut wie sein großer Bruder aber nichtsdestotrotz ein hervorragender Rum.

So, Andy has finally converted me to Rum &, having tried several apparently good rums over the course of the evening, this was far & away my favorite. I can't claim to be an expert but this had a wonderfully smooth & spicy flavour with a hint of vanilla. I think it was the spiciness that I really enjoyed. It may be sacrilege but adding just one small ice cube opens it up beautifully.

this run is a great starting point for people trying to get in to the sipping rum world. I think for the price you are not going to find much better.
