As above. Was ok, but would spend 10 euros more for a XO (plantation for example)

Smell: Just opened bottle – very rich sweet syrup, molasses mixed with brown and normal sugar, honey, bananas, coconuts, fresh coffee, leather, floral oak, lilac / flower bouquet. Complex and dense - a huge range or aromas really well blended with each other but there is a LOT of added sugar definitely.
Taste: Quite sweet (due to the added sugar) yet very well mixed up and there is some complexity. Slightly burned brown sugar, old bananas, sweet black tea, honey, some pineapple, slight clean oak notes – maybe too sweet at the finish which is quite long lasting.
It is a great sweet rum TBH but just too sweet for my taste, no matter how well it is blended.

Този ром, трябва всеки да го опита, за да си коригира критериите си за добър ром. В България е 36€-45€.
I ocassionally bought this one when good price occurs (I was told millions of Diplo's are getting sold every year) in my "early period". Had it several times during my rum development, the taste is actually still solid for me, nothing special and mindblowing, just a good commercial alcohol.
Oikein hyvää rommia. Ei paras, mutta ei huonkaan..

Very good rum. Love the color and a strong smell of molasses. A bit too sweet for my palate but definitely good.

Diplomatico is a pleasant, above average sweet rum, with huge notes of caramel. I'd still take El Dorado 12-year over this at $10 less per bottle.

This rum is for sippers who like their rums sweet.
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"

Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

the bottle that is the door opener to the world of sipping rums, affordable and very enjoyable with a ice cube
I found after a sampling many of the 9's and tens that this can be slightly two sweet for my taste, wasn't at the time,
honey molasses vanilla and raisins on the nose and taste
I'm guessing probably added sugar and maybe so glycerine to smooth it out as there is no burn and is extremely smooth, some here suggest that it should be classed as a liqueur, either way it is very enjoyable
