Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva

I finally got a bottle of this and compared it side by side to Kaniche Perfeccion and El Dorado 12.

I'd describe the Diplomatico as a sweet and baking spice sipper (cinnamon and nutmeg) Smooth and lightly fruity. The Perfeccion reminds me of sweet Juicy Fruit Gum and/or bubblegum. The El Dorado is drier with dark sugar and more pronounced wood and oak and perhaps not as smooth as the other two. Perhaps an older El Dorado would be more appropriate to compare.

Another favorite sipper of mine is the Kaniche XO. Compared to Kainiche Pefeccion I get the same Juicy Fruit and bubblegum with a little more spice.

Overall I list the Diplomatico a 8-9. A great sipper if you don't mind the added sugars. If i had to buy one of these 4 mentioned, I would do Kaniche XO partially based on the price. The next bottle to grab will be Zacapa 23.

Nice tasty rum.. Easy drinking but a lots of sugar!

Podľa mňa tento rum je kvalitný,jemný,chutný ale treba ho vychladiť trošku,tak na 16 stupňov.Najprv som to pil pri izbovej teplote ale tak nebol som vôbec ohromený z neho.Dal som aj najprv iba 6 bodov kvôli tomu ale teraz som zmenil názor.Dám 8 lebo fakt mi chutí.Taký má byť dobrý rum.

Szerintem ez a rum ízletes és finom de kicsit le kell hűteni,úgy 16 fokra.Először szobahőmérsékleten próbâltam de úgy nem ízlett.Ezért is kapott tőlem először csak 6 pontot de most megváltozott a véleményem.8 pontot adok mert tényleg nagyon finom.Ilyennek kell lennie a jó rumnak.

Very sweet, yet quite easy to drink, if you don't mind sweet, almost syrupy taste. Strong taste of nuts. Not very complex compared to premium rums.

A very sweet rum, hits the nostrils with scents of vanilla and sugar. Not very oaky due to the copper pots. Did a taste test with Ron Zucapa 23 with some family and most preferred this, except for those who are whiskey drinkers. A fine rum.

Diplomatico is a classic and good choice to enter in the word of old Rum.

I like rums with sweet tase and vanilla flavour. If your are the same dont miss this one.

Zatial ma to nijako neohurilo, skor naopak. Cez palivu chut alkoholu necitim nic ine. Zda sa, ze sme si nesadli, ale dam mu este sancu.

This run is very sweet, but makes an excellent sipping rum. Notes of brown sugar and caramel, with a smooth finish. I have found (to my horror) that mixing it with two parts Mt Gay reduces the sweetness and makes a wonderful sipping rum.
