I had no idea that Venezuela produced good rums until I was unexpectedly introduced to this one by Dave. Easy to drink straight up with a bit of ice. Paul really enjoyed this one at my last BBQ.

Been my best for about a year. Always #1 at a party or as a gift. Great sipped or mixed with Pepsi max.

My family used to live in the Virgin Islands, and we're all big rum drinkers. I've sipped most rums in existence, including some cooked up and not sold except by the road in plastic jugs (don't laugh, some of those are pretty decent, although a spoon might stand up straight in them), and this is the one that does it for me like no other. Very sweet nose with a strong vanilla note. The mouth is buttery and rich, zero bite. Aftertaste is lingering and sweet. The best sipping rum I've ever tried. In my opinion, this rum is best with a little ice and just a little lime skin. No juice at all.

Mid range ยฃ30-40, not available in most supermarkets. Often in bars and clubs. Can drink this straight, nice tasting rum.

Just bought a bottle of this after trying it in Chicago at Three Dots and a Dash. It is definitely my new fave. Very sweet on the front and smooth going down. The burn is pleasant and mellow, not like a cheap bottom shelf rum. I love this stuff!

There really isn't anything I dislike about this rum. It has a rich color, even the bottle looks fantastic. Strong taste, but very well balanced and defined. I recommend to sip it with one ice cube. Let it breathe a bit and you will taste a hint of vanilla, oak aroma and nuts. At first it appears strong but in a good way. It has become one of my favs next to Gold of Mauritius which is a lot sweeter. So go ahead and try it!

Incredibly smooth and complex. But really light given its color. Citrus fruit, fudge salted caramel. A real winner.

while visiting, Three Dots and a Dash in Chicago, I had this tasty treat. The tastes would go from vanilla to a very light licorice flavor (nothing too loud) and caramel as well. I really enjoyed this. I know there is better stuff, but I love the good rums in the $30-$40 range.
