This rum is a tad sweet for my preferences but pair it with a good cigar and it's excellent. Smooth with great flavor, if you like sweet rums this one I would think should be on the top of your list.

My first experience with Diplomatico was in Mexico City DF when I asked the restaurant manager to bring me his finest rum! He was perplexed because he usually gets requests for tequila, not rum. But I was searching for something different.

The pour revealed a perfectly amber color, the same color as maple syrup.
The nose: maples syrup, orange peel, brown sugar and a very mild licorice (nothing overbearing)
The mouth: sweeter than most sipping rums with toffee fudge and a smooth finish.

Aside from Zacapa, this is one the best rums I have tried and have since purchased roughly 10 bottles for friends and colleagues. The finish is smooth with little burn. Served best neat or with whisky ball if you enjoy colder rum.

Enjoy my friends!

One of my first aged rums. It's a good flavoured rum but a 7 is the score for me. There are still a lot of better rums on the market. It has a great price / quality rating so you can drink this one every day!

Very nice rum, smooth finish and an abundance of flavour, various hints of spices come at you with this rum. As other reviews elude to it is a different taste the longer it sits in the glass and opens up. Definitely worth a try

This is my favorite rum as of now and not crazy expensive ($55 CDN). Doesn't need anything. It is so smooth which unfortunately makes it easy to dissappear quickly.
