Venezuela | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot Still Distilled
Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva rum is distilled from molassis in copper pot stills and then aged in small oak casks for on average 12 years before being bottled.
Produced in Venezuela, which has a rich rum history dating to 1896, the Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva distillery is located on the northern slopes of the Andes mountains.

Aroma is strong vanilla. Very balanced sweeter body with lots of vanilla. Some caramel and smoke and fruitiness as well. Nice aftertaste where the vanilla body is slowly fading out. Very gentle taste, specially toward the end. Not very complex body. Not too aggressive abv. Great price performance.

One of the most famous rums. The first good rum I've ever tasted that made me a rum lover.
Currently a lot sweeter than I like, so decent 7.

Jeg synes denne rom er overvurderet. Den er ikke noget specielt og kan max få niddelkarakter fra mig.
Diplomático byl můj druhý rum,který jsem ochutnal před více jak šesti lety. Vzpomínky na něj jsou stále živé a právě tento rum mě nakopnul k poznávání dalších opravdových rumů. Mohl bych dát z nostalgie rovnou 10, ale jsou rumy,které mě oslovili mnohem více a které si to zaslouží. Chuť i barva tohoto rumu je skvělá. Na první pohled ihned poznáte, že nepijete jen tak něco. To vše podtrhne i omamná vůně která se line z láhve po otevření špuntu. Je to rum se kterým nikoho neurazíte a po chvilce upíjení se ta skvělost přenese i na společnost,která si jej vychutnává.
This was my very first real rum without blending it with soda. Its still the best.

As many say, this is very, very sweet. Great for sugar lovers. Not so good for diabetics.
A little bit on the sweet side, but great as an after dinner sipper. Very good.

In general this rum is good and smooth good sipper. For its sweetnes and price it got not enough full body taste. Since its sweet and well known rum it tend to be overrated - yes there are better rums for its price.
Aroma: Sweetness dominates , then kinda fruity
Taste: Nice and smooth in begginnig due to its sweetness, little fruity then nothing big.
Compared to:
Pampero anniverasario: Pampero is cheaper, in taste its more full but less sweet.
Plantation 20yo anni.: For little more money you got much more in taste and aroma, plantation is little less sweet aswell
