I really like diplomatico and for me it is just the rum you can offer to everyone who can start with high quality rums, this is standard which is not so expensive, full taste and flavor. Simply commercial and famous thing, which deserves to be know.

Indeed a nice and tasty rum with lots of taste in your mouth after you finish your glas!
Diplomatico & Plantation XO are the best rums ever!
Almost perfect mix/balance of sweet, spice and body
A pleasantly sweet but not overbearing choice. Very smooth, probably one of the smoothest rums commonly available. A fantastic choice regardless of price.
Its my personal favorite, my go to rum when I want to enjoy a luxury. Rich, sweet, so tasteful. One of the best out there

One of the best rum i have ever tried. Nice smooth and no after burn. And an amazing smell
"The palate evokes chocolate sauce and the sweet toffee, fudge and tropical fruit flavours from the nose"
"The nose is dominated by notes of caramel, toffee and crème. On the back end of the aromas, I can detect a hint of smoke and pineapple"
via Inu A Kena
Smells sweet. It is fruity, oranges, grapes and raisins with scents of chocolate and a sweet almost syrupy.
"The tasting notes on the site are very accurate vanilla, fudge/toffee sauce are noticeable as are notes of vanilla and a finish which is slightly bitter like cocoa which leaves a hit of oakiness on the taste buds. The finish is pretty short. ."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
