First off you're gonna shell out $100.00 for this stuff. The Nose is spectacular with coffee, chocolate, caramel maple and a hint of vanilla and fruits. This waz my favorite thing with this rum. The mouth was a bit disappointing, smooth but not a home run for the price. Nor a hint of sweetness. The finish waz a bit lacking and did fall short as I would have expected more bang for the buck. Good yes, flavorful yes, fantastic no.

Great rum. Quite complex taste with coffee, vanilla. Definitelly worth trying.

Title says it all very oaky very dry
Not so sweet smooth rum
Not a bottle I’ll be buying but if you are looking for a dry rum this Dictador XO perpetual will be for you
Really can’t go wrong with any of the Dictador rums
No added sugar in any of their rums

I got this along with Insolent as a pair of mini 5cl bottles and i found both to be quite enjoyable. Perpetual, for me, is nothing ground breaking but it has a nice smooth sweetness and feels quite good to drink with a slight burn. However, out of the 2, Insolent is far more unique and interesting. Still a good drop of rum.

``Back to solera rum for these both Dictador rum from Columbia. Time for Perpetual : Same beautiful dark color. The coffee, vanilla, honey, caramel and chocolate are present. This one is drier with a more robust body. The finish is also long. Dictador made two different rum with one dry , and the insolent more softer. This one should be better for rum connoisseur. To be also into your collection.`` Marc Cardinal

Taste 7,4/10. Some semi-dry, very little sweetness almost disappear & after that a complex and not my style taste like cognac style (maybe?) with medium (but not much) burn, also i can taste the age of this rum not fake as some cheap soleras. If you let it in glass for 10 minutes is better and you taste also the spiciness and coffee. Insolent must be better but not great even and for this price....

you would find this one a very good rum by itself.

but if you compare with it's sister products, especially lower priced ones, you may ask yourself why pay more for this when you can get similar high quality at lower prices.

good liquid.

tasty, sufficiently smooth, definitely well blended liquid.

Well over 400 aged rums tasted during the past 15 years and I had very high expectations on the Dictador rum family. The XO Perpetual has plenty going on flavorwise, but there isn't anything clearly identifiable beyond the tobacco leafs and coffee. Afterburn is surprisingly strong for a top end rum. XO Insolent is better in all categories.

I’m not a fan. I can admire the overall structure and I can see why this rum is so well regarded. But for me it’s overriding butterscotch and toffee. On the nose and palate and forever in length. I do get other things going on but I don’t have a sweet tooth. I have great friends who love toffee. It’s simply not for me. Foursquare is rather more in my line.

The aftertaste was sensational, but the way there isn´t really worth it

Once you open the bottle the smell of tobaco and coffee greets you.
When sipping it the same flavours shine through, with a kind of sweetness.

Very strong coffee taste and aftertaste. It's not necessarily bad, just really weird. Also, it's a little too boozy and not in a good way. This is a decent $25 rum. What's that you say? It sells for $100??!! Wow...
