I was drawn to the name of this rum thinking it might be some gimmick but quickly found out this is some good rum! Just slightly more burn with an ounce less sweetness as El Dorado 21 Year Rum. Great vanilla, smoky, oak, and caramel.
It has a very light nose that I can’t place but seems to be a little woody. It is very smooth with a unique taste with a little bite as it goes down. No heat and the aftertaste fades pretty quick. A nice pleasant rum with a unique taste.
Strong. Powerful. First touch cocoa and chocolate. Aftertaste is very earthy. Maybe celery roots... it remembers me about cognac.
Recently found a bottle in a liquor chain in Southern Tokyo for probably more than I should have spent, and I am really enjoying it. A wonderful nose, sweet vanilla and caramel taste, and oh so smooth going down.
Aroma and taste are dominated by chocolate and nuts flavour. thats truly Columbian gabinet style of rum. Great for sipping without nothing or with tabaco smoke. Thats truly worth to try. It is a bit flat, because there is 3 basic aroma (chocolate, nuts, oak) but probably you will never find same taste of rum. Good sweetness is balanced, but for sure there is a bit of sugar cane. So that is sugar cane aroma mixed with oak cask finish, with chocolate and nuts as first hit. Enjoy!
Schöner Dictador. Geruch kräftig. Geschmack dann dunkel, süß, Tabak, Kaffee. Würziger alkoholischer Nachgeschmack.
Insgesamt eine sehr ordentliche Flasche für einen günstigen Preis (40€).
"It has a reasonable amount of alcohol burn to reassure you it is a 40% spirit. It’s more like a kind of sherried flavoured vodka. I’m sure such a drink exists somewhere."
