Pretty much cocoa/vanilla/caramel taste which is not bad. The after taste was pretty dry but warm, smooth.
Smell is very addictive, even mine non drinking wife grab the glass just to smell it for couple of minutes.

Tested in Air Cafe, Brno, Czech Republic

The Dictadors have changed. The new bottle (no solera) is different to my old impressions. It's more on the cocoa side, a completely different rum.
The old version has a lot of fermented fruits like Nine Leaves 2.
Now all Dictadors are more similar to each other than the old bottlings.

This rum has a recognition value (it's pot still + column still blend). It needs 30min in the glas until it opens the aromas.
The flavor profile is honey with cocoa and spices like pepper and nutmeg. It's not sweetened.
Unusual combination, that's why it has a unique taste.
The smell is a combination of vanilla, cocoa, spices and some wood. I can not clearly separate all flavors, but I enjoy this composition.
The taste starts with a little bit cocoa, then slightly a woody note (or call it paper) shows up followed by some vanilla. It's not watery but I noticed the dilution, it's thiner of course. I would prefer 45% I think. Then I got also some dry fruits and different spices like pepper and nutmeg. They are not very dominant, you get only some hints of them.
A good rum, not very complex but unique. Would rate it with 75 points.

I am not an expert... I am just a guy that wanted to find the 'best rum to sip on a Saturday evening...'.
This is one of the ones I bought ($50). It's great... but not as good as a Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva... yet it has a similar angle.

toujours sur le café, moins sucré que le 12 ans donc du coup, un peu plus "raide"... et un peu plus "sec"... mieux en digeo que apéro;-)

N- Trying to work out the math on how much 20 years liquid left in the solera cask when drawn, but feeling quite depressed when look at the decimal points.... Anyway, the creamy stuff are much better than the 10YO, thought I think both have more or less the same aged liquid but the intensity of the aged cask could make a different to the vat. Latte, more toffee and caramel. Still quite light after breath without excessive sugar and pleasant with pickled ginger. (85/19)

P- Light, sweetness that balanced with emerging sour fruits. Spice of anise, cinnamon and clove with dried fruits of raisin and mango. (85/19)

F- Medium, feel more natural oak sweetness in this one. Subtle pepper, salt and sour notes that goes along quite nicely. (86/20)

B/B- 85/19

Fľaška rumu má luxusný dizajn a krásnu matnú fľašu s korkovým zátkom.

It's always fun scratching one off the old wish light.
Just got this today and I have to say it's my favourite of the dictador rums I have tried so far(the insolent and the 12).

I think this one has a citrus taste that balances out that thick smokey flavour of the other two.

I give this one a 7.5

Nothing special, it has its specific taste, so it is drincable very well, no doubt, but sometimes I felt a little sick from my stomach, because this rum is very tough, leached in old barrels. Not for everyone. Same with 12-Year version.
