Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
its a bit stronger whne you taste it with nice finish. nice smell
It has mild oak and brown sugar notes on the nose, smooth on the mouth but a little lacking in flavors.
An tasty rum coffe and cacao flavour cuban cigar. Best served on the rocks.

Well it has body, very tastfull rum: I taste coffee, leather, sigars, oak, vanilla.
It is sweet, but not too much, little burn.
Just not for me, I'll pass.
Compared to the Dictador 10 year, the 12 year is more complex, with a touch of coffe and caramel, whereas the 10 year is softer, sweeter. I prefer the 12 year, still, since we can not give 'half' points, I rate this also with a 6 (a 6,5...)
First off, it is a wonderfully smooth rum with a good kick of alcohol in the tail, that gives a good length. It also helps prevent what is quite a sweet rum from being cloyingly sweet. And for me it is that sweetness that is its biggest fault. That's being a tad harsh, as in the scheme of things, there are far sweeter rums than this. It does detract a bit from the wonderful and multi-dimensional nose dominated by honey and coffee notes, which carries onto the palate.
A really good rum, that is just a wee bit too sweet for me.
Voici un très bon rhum très doux,
Au nez, il est sur la vanille et l'amande. En bouche, on retrouve la douceur de la vanille et le miel. La finale est longue et agréable :)
A conseiller !!
There are some additives in it I think. But not more sugar. A good first choice, when you are stepping out of the realm of fake sweetened rums.
En ok dejlig rom, den er lidt sød og super nem at drikke.
I gave "100 months coffe" 7 so I must give this one 6 as I would prefere coffe on one hand as liquer and 20yo as rum on the other hand. Its not that bad, but its not good as well. I would recomend you going for one of the other two common rums from this company.
Smell: wood, coffe, alcohol, a bit of fruit
Taste: Sharp, alcoholic, with notes of wood and coffe. Nothing extraordinery
smell is like a cheap rum, similar to any major rum brand such as Bacardi. Taste is much better, it's middle of the road, not great but not horrible. Rich and buttery taste. Not much alcohol burn on the aftertaste. Pretty smooth. 80+
Not much on the nose. Chocolate, alcohol, tobacco and coffee on the tongue. It has a bit of a bite, but I'd call it quite harsh. There's a bitter sweetness to it...but the bitterness is stronger than the sweetness. Ok, but I won't be buying a bottle. For a bitter sweet rum, La Hechicera has way more depth.
Not bad at all, just nothing extraordanary.
Bitter sweet taste.
Finish rather short.
Smakar lite vattnigt men luktar väldigt gott. Ingenting för hyllan hemma.
Compared to 20y it was quite disappointing experience. Not complex enough, kinda lacking afterburn, too much coffee (even I'm ok with it).
I didnt like this one very much its like washed out 20y dictador. I would serve this on a formal occassion but not to a friend.
Looked good on the Shelf but you get what you pay for
Beautiful bottle that implies a much nicer taste than you experience. It could work as a decent mixer but not something I would choose to sip on its own.
If I want coffee, I'll order coffee. Original rum but too much coffee and toffee.
Rum má neobvyklou vůni s nádechem ořechu, ale chuť je na můj vkus hodně lihová.
I bought it, drunk it and liked it. It was ok but I am not planing to buy it again :)
Ok, this was one of my first bottles... I also love Colombia, so this Ron is somewhat special to me.
First of all, forget about the 12 years, this is a Solera Ron, so maybe (just maybe) a tiny little fraction of the liquid is somewhat 12 "periods" of ageing long. As most other Dictador types of Ron the notes of coffee are quite prevalent, chocolate beans, buts, molasses... lots of molasses, and, added sugar... I wouldn't be surprised if I found some coffee grains here and there in the top barrels of their stockpile, but that's just my speculation.
I like it because as opposed to other Rones in the category, this one isn't shy of alcohol and strength, it is not persistent (not at all, too sugary to last long) but at least for some moments once you sip it gives you the idea that "yes it means something".
