Visited the Depaz Distillery while vacationing at Martinique. Distillery tour was closed for the season but an open tasting bar was offered. Depaz Blanc was priced at EUR 9 at the distillery. Pretty decent old school bottle and label design. Traditional sweet Rhum Agricole notes followed by grass and floral bouquet to your nose and palate. Strong burn at the end. Rhum Agricole lovers can easily add 2 points to my score.

Le rhum blanc agricole Depaz est un rhum fin au nez délicieux, complexe et raffiné. Une belle richesse en bouche, très florale aux notes fruitées et parfumées. Très typé, le rhum blanc agricole Depaz est marqué par un terroir de sables volcaniques et de laves. Il est également recherché pour son goût plus sec et moins 'vesouté' que la plupart des autres rhums agricoles

Je ne suis pas un fan de rhum blanc mais ce Depaz (55°) est très fruité.
Parfait pour les punchs et les planteurs.
Le 50° est tout aussi bon.

This white rhum is very powerfull as was the volcano Mount Pelée where is located the distillery. Nevetherless it has lot of flavors ! To drink with very small pat of sugar cane syrup a squeeze of green lime and rocks !
