Virgin Islands, U.S. | Aged | 40% ABV
Cruzan Single Barrel Rum begins as an assortment of aged rums, distilled in column stills and ranging in vintage up to 12 years. After blending, the rum rests in a new oak barrel for an additional year before bottling. Each bottle of Cruzan Single Barrel rum is poured from only one barrel, which may increase color variance from batch to batch.
Cruzan Single Barrel rum is produced by the Nelthropp Family in St. Croix. The name ""Cruzan"" is derived from island's native population - the “Crucians."

After trying this out a few ways - neat, rocks, aired out - I can’t say there’s much that makes me want to come back. Not smooth or complex enough for my sipping preference, but good with cola. There’s others at this price point I prefer to keep around - I like just a little more sweetness on the tongue, but this leaves a lingering oak and astringency that feels like a younger rum.
A bit harsh straight, a drop of water helped.
I had to go all the way to Las Vegas to get a bottle of this , It was one of the first "fine" rums i ever had. I did have Cruzan white back in 1975 and it was not good. They've come a long way.
I wasn't a fan of it neat. There are far better for $5 more. If i had another bottle i would probably mix with coke. It reminded me of a bourbon or Tennessee whiskey.
Nice smooth rum
This is a very good rum but the quality does not justify the price.
Cruzan made a very interesting single barrel that is very versatile.
Cruzan Single Barrel “Premium Extra Aged Rum, Aged a Minimum of 5 Years”. Decent mixer, but nothing special.
Adequate for cocktailS but not special. Good price but there are much better sipping rums.

It’s very little and slightly floral with hints of fruit. It’s very light, pleasant and well balanced. .
"The rum is nice, it is well balanced with a nice mouthfeel. It offers little by way of alcohol burn and has a relatively long but inoffensive finish."

Not smooth enough finish for my liking.i prefer rum with no cola, on the rocks and even after the ice melts a bit, Cruzan single barrel doesn't lose its bite. I'm sure it'd be decent with cola.
