Angostura 1919 8-Year rum

Angostura 1919 8-Year

Trinidad and Tobago | Aged | 40% ABV

Angostura 1919 rum is produced in Trinidad by blending a combination of light and heavy molasses distilled rums. These rums spend at least 8 years aging in American oak bourbon barrels.

The name Angostura "1919" refers to the event in 1932 when Angostura's distillery was destroyed by fire. Miraculously, a handful of barrels filled with rum from 1919 survived and were purchased by J.B. Fernandes - the master blender of Fernandes Distillers.

Semi sweet, undescibeable tase and nose... more like flower and nutmeg nose and taste. Not for everyone.

i dont understand most of the reviews here. got a bottle of this last week at the local store and am bitterly disappointed. it smells quite ok but tastes like engine cleaner to me. very chemical and unpleasant, and leaves a burning sensation in the back of the mouth and throat. especially at this price point there are way better alternatives

Kellemes illat,ízében nekem nem hozza amit az illat ígér,és egy kicsit markánsan érződik ki az alkohol.

I liked this and I didn't. It's a bit too much sweet here. But it's great for a rum and coke.

This rum is great straight up or with a bit of water to bring out the sweetness.
Goes down well and smooth

Pretty unremarkable, rummy aroma, if maybe a bit harsh.

The drink itself is pleasant. Pretty light on flavor, with a smooth mouthfeel. Gently sweet, woody... almost floral rather than fruity. Eminently drinkable and unobtrusive, but really not much to write about. It is nice. I'd say the flavor is probably too light to make for a keen mixer, but haven't given it a shot myself.

Very approachable rum, nice color, it has some decent flavors and very drinkable, more like an aromatic single malt. 6.6 pts.

I don't find it very sweet, compared to some other with too much sugar:-)
not bad, but not exceptional also

I actually quite like this. No overpowering flavors. Works well in most cocktails.

Nice sipper. Vanilla, spice, mint and coffee. Really nice stuff here. Cherry notes. Balanced. Deep and complex. Finish is a little short. But smoothness and flavor are long and enjoyable. Definitely an 8

As I like sweet rum this was not bad at all, the sweetness is given by the coconut and vanilla after taste also has a hint of coaco, fairly smooth. Overall 7/10
