Trinidad and Tobago | Aged | 40% ABV
Angostura 1919 rum is produced in Trinidad by blending a combination of light and heavy molasses distilled rums. These rums spend at least 8 years aging in American oak bourbon barrels.
The name Angostura "1919" refers to the event in 1932 when Angostura's distillery was destroyed by fire. Miraculously, a handful of barrels filled with rum from 1919 survived and were purchased by J.B. Fernandes - the master blender of Fernandes Distillers.

J ai été surpris au gout et arome parfumé. Il est doux et léger. Gout de caramel et crème. Je me cherche déjà une deuxième bouteille a acheter.
A very rum. The aroma is not very strong but it tastes so good! There's some vanilla and some flavours from the barrel.
Great for sipping, great for mixing, and lovely on the tongue.
Of course, there are much better premium rums out there. Though 1919 is the rum for me that one can always pour. No matter the occasion, day in the week. So, not the best I've ever tasted, or will taste in the future, but a rum that goes well at any given time. And that means a lot. From all West Indies rums (WIRSPA), this is nr 1.
Mixture of taste strong vanilla aroma and taste!! Perfect for those who like sweet flavour in the rum. Very nice for rum old fashion.
Great Sipper. taste similar to the 5 years just stronger overall. with hints of tobbaco which is pleasent.
round 40$ in my neck of the words and id buy it again when i run out. fantastic sipper.
It’s was my first rum to really drink straight and appreciate. Smooth with a hint of vanilla. Started trying other rums out and comparing but I always come back to this original. It’s also inexpensive.
This rum captures the essence of what rum ought to be - an island spirit. The nose calls to mind the best the islands have to offer, and the taste delivers on that promise. The finish is pure pleasure. Those Trinidadians are doing something very right, and at a fantastic price to boot!
This is a great rum to have with an exotic meal. Not an everyday Rum, but a special occasion drink. Very robust Oak.

There is a little “oak and smoke” and a very small scent of fruit.
"The rum is very smooth with notes of oak, cocoa and vanilla. Perhaps a little banana but very subtle."
