Trinidad and Tobago | Aged | 40% ABV
Angostura 1919 rum is produced in Trinidad by blending a combination of light and heavy molasses distilled rums. These rums spend at least 8 years aging in American oak bourbon barrels.
The name Angostura "1919" refers to the event in 1932 when Angostura's distillery was destroyed by fire. Miraculously, a handful of barrels filled with rum from 1919 survived and were purchased by J.B. Fernandes - the master blender of Fernandes Distillers.

This is a sipper you can sit and enjoy with other rum drinkers. Pull the cork out with your teeth like a pirate and pass it around. Easy sipper. Also versatile I'm sure this one would mix easy as well.
Avec ce rhum, on commence à avoir ce que l'on recherche dans les spiritueux : une palette aromatique élargie, de la puissance en attaque, de la rondeur en bouche et une longueur en fin qui commence à durer. A découvrir
Has a fresher taste than most, distinctive as most good runs are.
A very solid rum for beginners like myself. Not too expensive and a good sweet after taste.
Très doux et agréable en bouche, épicé et fruité à la fois, se boit sec.
O surpriza placuta, fin, aromat(vanilie, piersica etc). Un rom "de vara". Recomand "on the rocks" sau ceva mixuri mai speciale.
Angostura one of my favourite.
As soon the kork is off , that beautiful sweet hits of vanilla and tropical fruit .
As well the taste. Pact whit sweetness more then medium in my opinion. Caramel vanilla tropical fruit and honey all in all were neat and Sweet rum. A must in your collection
The story of the fire 1932 is nice, but imho this rum is not as big as the story.
It may be his long suit to taste vanilla, but this is far too much. There are touches of toffee, caramel or butterscotch, but vanilla is laying hard over all of them. Maybe good for mixing but I usually drink rum straight.
Behaglig smak med en svag ton av bittermandel balanserat med ek, blommar aldrig riktigt ut.
I've had this rum twice. The first time it was all vanilla and caramel. Beautiful ! The second bottle was completely different, all grassy and herbal. Wasn't as nice. Not sure what's going on.

There is a little “oak and smoke” and a very small scent of fruit.
"The rum is very smooth with notes of oak, cocoa and vanilla. Perhaps a little banana but very subtle."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Damn good distillery. For the money this is great. Gutted sainsbury stopped stocking it. 7.5.
