This is a nine-year-old agricole with lots of fruity aromas which, surprisingly, don't come through in the tasting. It's a very dry rum, bone dry in fact, and not at all vegetal like many younger agricoles. Imagine the dryest white wine you possibly can, then add black pepper, red pepper, ethanol, vanilla and oak. Bake it in wood for 9 years and voila. Not among my top-shelf faves but enjoyable and complex nonetheless. Better in cocktails than straight up.

Tried the Berry Bros & Rudd Haitian 9y rum in its natural habitat at Marriott bar in Port-au-Prince Haiti. This is a super dry rum with a very strong alcohol smell and burn at the end. Not my cup of tea at all.
