Angostura 1824 rum is a blend of rums aged for at least 12 years in oak barrels. The aged rums are blended, re-casked, and upon maturity hand-drawn for bottling.

This rum is named and crafted in honor of Dr. Johann Siegart's founding of Angostura house in the city of Angostura, Venezueala in 1824. Angostura 1824 rum production is now based in Trinidad.

smagte denne rom til rom festival i politikkens hus, og syntes den gled dejligt ubesværet ned.

I guess by how much I was impressed by the 1919, I expected more from this one. Don't get me wrong though; I do enjoy this one, but I have to be in the mood for it.
A little dryer and oakyer then the 1919. More spice and burn on the finish as well.
I Recommended this to anyone who likes dry rums

Lovely bottle, lovely color. Tastes of thick molasses with a dominant herb like flavor of tobacco. Different to a lot of other rums.

Ceux qui aime le 1919 aimeront le 1824. Moins accessible, moins sucrés, mais bien meilleurs.
Un classique à posséder pour faire plaisir aux plus grands nombre

Looks far richer and gives the impression of much more developed flavors that 1919, but only tastes slightly richer. A disappointment.

Sa dénomination et la forme de sa bouteille, forcent la comparaison avec son petit frère 1919. Celui-ci est "plus" !
Sa couleur acajou est plus jolie. Son nez est plus parfumé. Ses aromes sont plus complexe. Un peu plus sec que le 1919, il semble plus puissant, il s'accroche en bouche en garde une belle longueur.
La puissance est maitrisée et on garde bien toutes les saveurs de fruits, d'épices, et surtout de vanille.
Très bon rhum

j'aime beaucoup ce rhum...
Parfumé, long en bouche...
il reste présent dans le verre vide et on apprécie encore plus le 2e verre.
bien plus intéressant et complexe que son petit frère 1919, il est un permanent de mon bar

J'ai goûté en premier le 1919, qui est bcp plus sucré. Le 1824 s'avère surprenant au départ, mais révèle un final fantastique. Incomparable, il restera un pilier de mon bar.
