Angostura 1824 rum is a blend of rums aged for at least 12 years in oak barrels. The aged rums are blended, re-casked, and upon maturity hand-drawn for bottling.
This rum is named and crafted in honor of Dr. Johann Siegart's founding of Angostura house in the city of Angostura, Venezueala in 1824. Angostura 1824 rum production is now based in Trinidad.

j'aime beaucoup ce rhum...
Parfumé, long en bouche...
il reste présent dans le verre vide et on apprécie encore plus le 2e verre.
bien plus intéressant et complexe que son petit frère 1919, il est un permanent de mon bar
Tried this rum at a restaurant because it did not have any of my go to rums. I actually liked this rum a lot. It was balanced and not overly sweet. I don’t like sweet rum. I’ll buy this one again.
Was a quite expensive bottle, but we did not like it straight, on the rocks, mixed...
Caramel and vanilla in the aroma. Quite sweety start of the body and almost no tail.
A wonderful nose that hints at things to come. Perfect neat with a full range of flavors with a slight burn with some sweetness. Great for sitting in front of the fireplace.
Added just a touch of coke to try later and enjoyed that immensely. Changed the profile slightly but still had a broad flavor profile.
Overall this is a better sipper that the 1912 and will get a spot in my bar.
Nice sipper with lots of flavours. Sweet but not to sweet, vanilla, tobacco, butterscotch and with an hint of smokiness.
Odd taste notes, tobacco etc. Clearly an essence-bomb, despite of Angostura always saying they do not put in essences (well, lab tests say otherwise). sweetened. Unnatural vanilla. Thin base spirit. No thanks. Has gotten from not so nice to truly awfully poor in its lifetime. Weak.
First, I found this way better than the disappointing 1919, which I found oily and lacklustre. This has a lot more oak, molasses and fruit (possibly mango and banana). On the negative side, the added sugar seems to dampen the experience rather than add anything at all to it. I also found it had a slight burn on the aftertaste.
Deep amber color. Molasses and vanilla on the nose. Upon sipping, you are hit with a sweetness that mellows out to oak. Then there is a subtle bite ate the back end as burnt banana and toffee exits the nose.
Wonderfully smooth, complex, and reserved. Flavors of oak, leather, and tobacco make this an excellent sipper and it's certainly worth making it last at the price point. It would be a travesty to mix this with Coke or even make something basic like a dark n' stormy with this rum. In fact, I currently use it only in my zombie (with a generous 1.5 oz pour) which is a kick in the face best enjoyed by lovers of rum in the first place. It takes a lot for me to really view a rum as something primarily to be enjoyed neat (as a tiki cocktail enthusiast) and this is the first rum that really makes me feel guilty for mixing.
Rum starts from dark chocolate taste and goes to oak. Didn't liked this angostura.
This one has a decent flavor to it, a bit sweet, but on the rocks it is very good. Better straight than mixed.
Oaky, a bit harsh and a bit sour. Interesting and different rum. But let it breathe for a long time before the first sip. A liked it but this rum is different in a good way.
Tried this after the bartender made an intro. Weak color. Not to sweet. Balanced body. A little bit sweet aftertaste but you are loosing quickly. Always with ice and dont mix it
Mjuk rund smak, behaglig sötma. Lite smörig kanske men överraskande god faktiskt, en rom man kan softa gott med när som helst.
This was the first sipping rum I tasted, and still the only rum I always keep in my cabinet. As a whisky lover, I love the hint of smoke. Complex undertones and not too sweet. Simply delicious!
Really well-presenter rum here. Nicely presented in its container, with a booklet and a beautiful corked top.
Angostura 1824 has a fairly straightforward aroma in my opinion - one that’s relatively sweet, with hints of honey, floral notes and a little nuttiness.
The taste is well-rounded and very smooth - a fantastic balance between sweetness (honey, maple syrup), savoury (butter, nuts, woody elements, and even a slight smokiness), and spice (ginger, leather).
Fantastic rum! Not quite a Diplomatico, but not far off!
Good flavor, good aroma, not too sweet. Still a recommandation.
Spiced room. Strong. Nice and sweet aroma of orange and citrus. aftertaste of oak and tobbako. light mouth.
A very smooth drink but definitely not worth the standard price point. Other options are better.
Rum is nice with hints of tobacco oak leather. Not to sweet
Un nez très parfumé et une bouche beaucoup moins. aucune longueur en bouche
Vůně: medová / citrusová
Chuť: těžší rum, palivý na jazyku, po nadechnutí velmi jemný s chutí po citrusech
Soft taste, a bit darker, fruity flavor. Just a bit too narrow taste
