Few producers does white agricole better than Clement from Maritinique. I have always sworn to their Blanc 40 bottle, but decided to give the Canne Bleue a try and I haven´t regretted that for one second.

Nose: Green apples, sugar cane, pepper, red licorice and fresh cut grass
Taste: Spicy peppers, plums, grass, citrus peel, licorice that comes together and punches you in the face until it slowly fades out over time
Overall: This is without a doubt my favorite white agricole. Love to use it as a sipper, but it is also really effective to improve any cocktail that calls for agricole. Love it.

Nice dry taste, alot of alcohol, and wonderful grassy notes. One of my favourites from a rum festival I just attended.

Crystal clear in the glass.
The nose is wonderfully fresh and young. Grassy notes and freshly pressed sugar cane are the dominant tones, some tropical fruits, flowers and herbs keep a little in the background.
Powerful and aromatic on the palate. Like you're chewing on a fiery sugar cane stalk that was previously dipped in fruit juice. Some herbs and spices are blown away by a sea breeze.
The finish is very pleasant and long. The sugar cane slowly fades away, the herbs linger even longer.
Wonderful rhum for all sorts of drinks, had a chilled apple juice with the Blue Wonder today. Looking forward to summer and Ti' Punch. For Agricole lovers and bartenders. 7+

As usual with me, a story always comes with each new review. In this case, it was a 100 mile clockwise loop around The Big Pond on the north side of New Orleans. My purpose was to finally get my hands on a bottle or two of The Scarlet Ibis from Trinidad, aka the poor man's Caroni. Well, two of their stores that claimed to have it told me that it was never in their inventory. Despite being very disappointed, this rhum agricole was available, along with three more bottles of Clement Homere. So, this rum running trip was by no means a total loss.

My purpose for wanting this rhum was my memory of Depaz Canne Bleue that was slightly aged. This one is not aged at all. No contest when compared to that bottle of Depaz. These two rums could not be more opposite despite both coming from the rare blue cane sugar that supposedly only grows on the volcanic slopes of Martinique. No matter what the initial source for rhums are, it is all about the fermentation, distillation, and aging that follows after the source. As for aroma and taste on this one, my title says it all. Gosh, I really miss that bottle of Depaz Canne Bleue!

I did not have much experience with Agricole rums, but it was a big disappointment. This is just not for me.

I simply couldn't drink this. I've tried Clement once again after this and was very disappointed. I'd rather use Bacardi than this.

Great stuff. Not too harsh, fresh, lime juice, grassy, tropical fruits, soft finish.

Nice grassy rhum perfect for several cocktails or over ice with a lime.

So damn good, it tastes like whole-plant cane sugar. Very strong bight at 50% alcohol, otherwise it would get a 10. I like white rum, neat, and this will do for me.

Excellent agricole rhum - fresh, light and quite powerful. Not so cool as Neisson is but still very good!
