Golden colour with a punchy first taste on the palette. As a sipping rhum it’s ok but I found it a bit harsh. My first Rhum Agricole so not an expert by any means.

I’ve mostly only had Rhum Agricola from Martinique so it was nice to compare this to those.

Definitely not as much grassy notes in the nose with hints of banana and fruit standing out.

The first sip does bring the grass as well and surprising funk along with pineapple.

I’m interested in trying more of their rhums now!

First smell was a little sweet. First taste quite bitey, followed by a strong smokiness. After a few sips it became a bit grassy. The more I drink the more I like it.

French rhum agricole not from Martinique has a bit more freedom in their production technique and this one from Guadeloupe’s Damoiseau is surprisingly more funky than, say, HSE VSOP that is comparable in price and ageing.

Oak, grass, sugarcane, iodine and pineapple on the nose. Delving a bit, fruit dominates and a moment you’d hesitantly think it is a Jamaican rum.

On the palate pineapple gives way to fried banana and dried figs, with a dry whiff of vegetal, bitter artichoke turning into oak.

A very dry finish, but the fruity esters return and leaves a long, pleasant reminiscence of dried fruits and charred pineapple.

Great rum to have neat, very nice in a rum smash with lime peels and mint or any pimped version of ti’punch

Found this rhum suprisingly fruity and complex given its relatively young age. Nosing reveals a fruity set of vanilla, tropical fruits and wood. Palate starts with a minor burn and adds further notes of raisins and chocolate. Nice but not too extended finish (unfortunately) which has some smokiness added. Overall a very nice rhum agricole at a reasonable price in my view.

This was a nice surprise. Smells a little bit like caramel. Has a smoky taste with a little wood.

Rhum agricole that convinced me that this type of rum/rhum is good stuff also. Cane sugar, wood (oak), and spices+ hints of butter. "costeaux" like they say in French, but very nice.

Un grand classique. Peu parfumer mais qui tient longtemps en bouche.

it shows a very dense aroma. something like sherry and chocolate with brandy. a little bit of "mon cheri", sweets with alcohol. more creamy and mild than expected. medium aftertaste with fruity moments. and don´t forget the wooden taste in every second. i like it very well!
