This is easy the worst rum i have tasted. It stinks like an old sock and the taste is simular. If you aren¨t a fakir don¨t buy.
It’s very intense and quite bitter. .
"There is sweetness but with a huge hit of booze and esthers running through the mix."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Pungent but pleasantly surprised

As per the label the only rum fermented and distilled in England Cambridgeshire. Black strap molasses is used and distilled three times in small batches of 200L copper pot stills. Three years matured in English Oak.
Presented in a tall slender 50cl bottle with a synthetic cork that's been sealed with a red wax. I like the presentation but as it's taller than the usual bottle it doesn't fit on my drinks shelf.
As soon as you open the bottle the aroma hits you. Very pungent resembling Jamaican rum style (i’m thinking Smith & Cross) aroma of raisins & high esters. The taste surprised me. I was expecting a harshness but got a smooth taste, mouth coating with dark fruits, some spice with al little bitterness but overall a high estery experience. The finish is long, some sweetness and mouth drying towards the end from the oak.
If you like sweet rums this is a definite no no. However if you like the Smith & Cross kind of rum than give this a try.
